Hello Europe, I miss you & please get me back home from Mexico!
My name is Jennifer and after living abroad for 5 years I decided to stay in Mexico. Well, I came like many because of somebody I loved. And here goes the usual story, it did not work out. Why the hell did I stay???
I decided to stay because of an opportunity. All these years I did sell online digital marketing services and made this way my living. Including several aspirations to found a business which I though never did because of missing self-confidence. Now that I left the men I spend 5 years with I faced a situation in which I was in a foreign country, had no roof, lived with a dog and was still lacking language skills. What I had were the clients that already worked with me, skills, ambition and the opportunity to use Mexico to change my life.
What I did:
I moved to Guadalajara, knowing literally
nobody, and decided to found a business selling Mexican resources in Europe. The first friends I found supported me a lot and I am so damn thankful! They helped me founding the business, getting an accountant and finding people who where up to working with me. The first big project was already negotiated and I was ready to start.
Where I am at now:
I managed the first business I started right against the wall. Calculating with deals and money that was not yet in my account - wanting a big team with a fair income and a nice office in a modern coworking - doing more proyect management than sales.
Now I am on 5000€ debt, my computer in the pawn shop, only 100€ in cash and I have to leave my room on 21st. Being afterwards no joke without a roof.
Why would you help?
For many years I wanted apporoval for following my dreams and pulling something off I believed in. Being alone in Mexico made me overcome this fear! I learned so much about myself - feeling so poor and so rich and the same time. For nothing in the world I would change what I did. Now I want to get back home starting from 0, making small money with every job I can get.
With 1500€ I can:
- get a plane ticket back home for me and my dog
- find a room to stay while I make my first money
- get enough food until first money comes in
I was so thankful for the help and support I got in Mexico - people smiling, listening to me and making me understand how the country works. Now I want to feel thankful for your help from Europe!
