Janesse survived her massive Stroke / Brain Haemorrhage almost five years ago.
Yes, it's been nearly 5 years!
Janesse has struggled, but I'm sure you'd be happy to hear that she is healthy and happy most days (in fact her first grandchild was born recently which has made her very very happy :) and takes every day as it comes. She chooses to be happy each and every day despite needing care 24/7.
A quality that I admire more than anything.
Janesse also lives with several neurological deficits one of which, is Global Aphasia. This results from severe and extensive damage to the language areas of the brain. Patients lose almost all language function, both comprehension, and expression, and difficulty reading and writing.
However, due to her weekly involvement with a very special Aphasia choir group in Crows Nest she has not only acquired better speech and expression she now enjoys her participation more than any other therapy. She just loves to sing. And socialise.
But!, we are now graciously asking for your help..
An amazing Australian organisation known as Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy who run numerous programs for people like Janesse is about to lose their government funding and weekly programs like Janesses are at risk of falling apart as many participants simply won't be able to pay for their choir sessions each week.
We would love to encourage you to save her beloved choir from that fate so if you kindly wish to help then please, please donate any amount that you want. $5, $10, $49.70.. Whatever!
Our modest personal target was just $2,000 originally however, it actually costs a lot more than that each year.
We are on our way to smashing that now! Thank you so much to those who have already donated! But let's not stop!
