Save Ms. Cox's Storage

I met Ms. Cox at the Jobs Plus Program in the Bronx about 3 months ago. I've never met a 75 year old woman with so much life and joy, I wondered what she'd been like in her 20's . She has this deep, raspy, nurturing voice that's melodic to listen to, and when she tells you something you want to listen to everything she has to say. She's been a giving person for most of her life- out stretching to others as frequently as she could. She's come into my office a few times a week needing help here and there, but she always bring a spirit of gratitude with her. 

In the last few weeks I've been watching her slowly decline, and asked her to tell me a bit more about her story. Ms. Cox retired about 10 years ago and moved to North Carolina because the cost of living was too high in New York. About 3 years ago she sold her home under the advice of a family member, to move to New York to be closer to family. She gave and gave as was custom for her-and when all the money was gone so were they.  Ms. Cox came into the Jobs Plus office as a last resort, hoping to get a job at the age of 75.  One of the hardest things I've had to do in my life is break it to a 75 year old woman that there are few places that will hire her. Yet she has been persistent in trying to keep her bills up to date, and giving to those who she believes have less than her. Today I found out that on November 29th, 2018 at 8 AM, Ms. Cox will loose her storage unit and the items inside will be SOLD. This holiday season please join me in donating a few dollars to help Ms. Cox SAVE her storage unit. We need $103.10 to save her life possessions, please help in any way you can! Additional funds will be used to pay the December/January storage bill, and labor to vacate the unit as we search for permanent housing for Ms. Cox!
