SAVE GREEN OAK SCHOOL FROM CLOSURE

Donation protected
Green Oak School is currently undergoing consultation on closure.

In order to effectively fight this decision, we need to crowd fund and ask people to help us financially. Any money raised will be used to pay for advertising, signs, hire professionals and enable us to focus full time on fighting the closure. We will use ANY LEGAL MEANS NECESSARY including private investigators if required and Judicial Review.

We are not confident that Surrey County Council, the Interim Executive Board (IEB) and the Diocese of Guildford have put enough effort in to find a solution or exhausted every possible avenue in order to find a suitable MAT or appropriate funding for the school to enable the Good Shepherd Trust to take on the school.

Green Oak School (previously St Marks) was the 1st Church of England School in Godalming, albeit on a different site and under a different name.

The School is an integral part of our community, serving the estates of Ockford Ridge and Aaron's Hill.

According to the Town Council:

"This area has been ranked very low in the measure of the index of multi deprivation - 26(th) worst locality out of 709 in Surrey. This is an important consideration as the proposal to close the school will take the heart out and further isolate an already vulnerable community"
-Andy Jeffery, Godalming Town Council Clerk in letter To Green Oak closure consultation, 13th March 2018.

Any money you can donate would be much appreciated.
