Aunt J's Farm needs your help!

Jelka and her husband bought a track of land in 2004 in Spokane. For years they worked to build it up to a farm with blood, sweat, tears, and prayers. In 2016 that all came crashing down when her husband of 30 years shocked her with a request for divorce. For her peace, the details are best left private, but Jelka was placed into terrible situations that were aggressive and physically unsafe during the proceedings. She was left with wounds on her soul and a farm to manage herself.

After all the pain and heartbreak, Jelka has completely risen above it all. She works dawn till dusk to manage the farm and protect her livelihood and still exudes the same love and joy we know her for. Throughout all of this turmoil, Jelka still gives farm tours to children and family groups.  She lets them pet the animals and teaches them about how to treat them kindly, provide healthy non-gmo feed and open areas for them to roam. Jelka creates beautiful healthy handmade soaps and cleaning products. She believes in self-sustaining farming techniques and treats her animals like family. She sells non-gmo poultry and hog feed that many small farmers rely on. She is a true inspiration and a gem to our community.

My family has been a customer of Jelkas for years and we recently joined her in her endeavor to expand the farm and start a farmers market on weekends. I have watched a woman placed into situations that would destroy others, refuse to give up and instead rises above and is so full of inspiration and hope that she becomes beloved to everyone she meets.

Jelkas brutal divorce has now been finalized and she has exactly six months to raise enough money to buy out her ex-husbands half of the property or she will lose this farm that is so precious not only to her but to the Spokane community. We are all pulling together for her, but that is a large amount of money for a humble farmer to come up with. This farm is her home and livelihood. Her hope and prayer.

We continue to work with her in expanding the farm and increasing her customers, but we need more help. It is time to muster all the courage and strength we have and push to save Jelkas haven.

Any donation made will be directly for the buyout fund. We pray and hope that you will join our family and help Aunt J.
