With the Saskatchewan provincial government shutting down STC, the government-owned bus service that has served rural Saskatchewan for decades, many who do not have the option to drive are left without basic transportation for basic services.

This website is intended to help those who have relied on provincial bus service to get to medical appointments, visit friends and family, do their shopping, or travel out-of-town for any other reason.

This is a non-commercial website. We do not charge for listings, nor do we send you annoying emails to try to sell you something. We do not keep your listing or email address on file other than for the time required to contact you if necessary, nor do we sell it to anyone else.

Like many rural Saskatchewan residents, we have used STC for years. We understand that for many in rural areas, especially seniors and people with medical needs, there are few options. The web site www.saskrideshare.ca is intended to help get drivers and riders together.

We have contributed the labour and resources required to design and build the site. Maintaining it -- adding new listings and removing old ones -- will require time and effort. The money raised here will go towards hiring the help necessary to keep the web site up to date, and to pay for ongoing costs like web site hosting and promotion. We will keep the site going and current regardless of the outcome of this campaign; it will just be easier on our finances and peace of mind if we are able to get some assistance from people in our communities.

If you feel this is a worthwhile project that connects neighbours with neighbours in the Saskatchewan tradition, we will be grateful for any assistance you can provide.
