Melton Adoption Journey

Donation protected
Jonathan and Rebecca met in college right before Thanksgiving break. After being set up on a blind date, they didn’t talk until the next semester when they both ended up performing in a school opera together. The next April they started dating and were together for 14 months before getting engaged and then married a short time after. It didn't take long before knowing that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together!

After several years of enjoying married life together, they started trying to get pregnant with no luck. Jonathan grew up as a missionary's kid in Japan for most of his life and had always been open to adoption. He has many family members who are adopted, so it has always been in his heart to give a child in need a life they deserve. He started praying, asking God for guidance. A few months later, Rebecca opened up to him about how she felt God had been talking to her about giving a child a new home. So together they started working toward their adoption journey!

After a few months, Rebecca’s sister mentioned the process of Embryo Adoption. They had never heard of this, but it sounded like an answer to prayer. She had always loved the thought of being able to carry a baby but since only hearing about Domestic Adoption, that’s the path they first decided to take. The thought of being able to adopt a child but also being able to carry, feel the kicks, hear the heartbeat, and experience the process seemed so special to them!

It’s not super popular yet so it’s half the price of adoption and this way Rebecca could carry the baby. It’s kinda like surrogacy but getting to keep the baby.

Christians will call them Snowflake babies because they are like unique little snowflakes. God has created a million embryos that are all different and then just like adoption, He will chose the right one for their family. They get to take a special embryo and give it a home!

They have gone through the many steps of the adoption process and are ready to meet their little Snowflake! The last step left is to raise the funds necessary to be able to welcome their baby into their home.

If you know Jonathan and Rebecca personally, they are hard workers who will do whatever they can themselves before asking for help. While watching their journey, God has spoken to Danielle and I to help where we can, and that is why we are starting this GoFundMe.

Even if you are not able to help them financially, if you could keep them in your prayers, that will mean so much to them. The power of prayer can conquer anything.
