The Story:
I am reaching out to Reid's support team to let you know that our local EMS hero Thomas Reid Jackson is in need of our help. Reid is a local EMS paramedic here in Pensacola, Florida and has spent the past 7 years serving our community here in Escambia and Okaloosa county. Reid is a wonderful soul whom has always gone above and beyond to help friends and others in their times of need. We all know how reliant we are on the public safety team here in Escambia and Okaloosa county and how much they assist us in our time of need. Now it's time for us to chip back in and help one of our diligent public safety servants during his time of need! Reid is a pinnacle member of the Escambia County EMS team & has served as an EMT and now as a paramedic, he was even recently promoted to FTO (training officer) and named EMS memeber of the year.
Reid had a sudden seizure this week while swimming at the beach with his girlfriend (Dana), he was rescued from the water by her during his seizure. When Reid was pulled to shore he wasn't breathing or responsive, 911 was called and EMS arrived shortly afterward. Reid was rushed to a local trauma center where he underwent further testing and had a CT which diagnosed him with a brain mass. Two days ago Reid underwent brain surgery, they performed a craniotomy & brain tissue biopsy. Yesterday he was confirmed to have brain cancer and is currently awaiting futher results in order to determine further treatment options. After surgery Reid was in ICU, while there several of his EMS brothers and sisters visited him as well as several family members and friends. Reid had planned on proposing to the love of his life on a surprise vacation this weekend, however due to the nature of his illness he ended up proposing from his hospital bed. Dana who is a local EMT, and rescued Reid from drowning, said YES and ecstatically agreed to spend the rest of her life with Reid!
Reid has a lot of medical bills ahead of him & he & his fiancee could use a helping hand.
