Women's Centre update following the fire on 7.1.17.

The women's centre building burnt down in the early hours of the morning on Saturday 7th January. The centre will be rebuilt and the team are working around the clock to ensure there is still support for women, children and families on site, but we need your help to provide vital funds.

The women's centre free shop provides hygiene essentials in the camp. These essentials include basics such as sanitary products, nappies , toilet paper and milk but they all come at a cost and we desperately need to build up our stock again. The loss of the centre also means many women no longer have access to cooking stoves and mains to charge their mobiles, any donations will also enable us to find solutions as soon as possible.

Until the centre is rebuilt the team are providing mobile distribution and working from shelter to shelter to support the women and families of the camp. We aim to show the women that although the centre has been destroyed the network of support that we all share is still very present and we will be on site everyday. Please help us rebuild and grow stronger. We will continue to run activities in spaces kindly shared with us by partner organisations at the camp and any additional funds will be directly used for these means.

Please help us to show the women, children and families of the camp that they are not alone at this time. We will grow quickly and we will ensure there is a space for women but we need your help. Please donate and show your support.

Strength and Solidarity,

The Women's Centre, Dunkirk
