Life after SIDS

Donation protected
My Brother always wanted to be a Dad and for many years it never happened until he reunited with a childhood friend. This friend had a Daughter already, whom my Brother embraced as if she were his own.
To my brother's surprise and delight , he learned that their family of 3 was going to become a family of 4, with a new little girl on her way. His first biological child, he was over the moon! Finally he was going to be a Daddy.
He doted over his growing little family and worked long and hard to support them, both financially and emotionally. There were some scares along the way but beautiful baby Bella graced her family with her presence in a hurry on the 2nd of September 2017, with 10 perfect fingers and 10 perfect toes and everything in between.
Never in my life have I seen my brother happier than he was when he became a Daddy. He talked of the love he had for his baby girl and how he would protect her from the harsh world.
Bella was wide-eyed and alert - she seemed wise beyond her years, intensely scanning the faces of those around her, taking everything in... perhaps it was because, just 5 weeks later, she grew wings and flew away.
Bella died of SIDS and left some very special and treasured memories but also a gaping void in her family's world. A whole lot of love with nowhere to go. A lifetime of hopes and dreams for their little girl, unravelled in an instant.
This family's world has come crashing down.
Bella's Mum has an illness that prevents her from being able to work and her Dad, my Brother, has been so overcome with grief that he also has been unable to work. While they have lost their baby girl, they still have their big girl to support as well and they are struggling to make ends meet. Our whole family has helped out as much as we can but they need more help than we alone can give them so I felt it time to reach out further. For them not to have to worry so much about their finances, especially at Christmas, would be a huge support and load off their minds as they continue to process their sad reality, and try to move forward.
