Project Heron

£3,690 of £75,000 goal

In the last ten years, Wanstead & Snaresbrook Cricket Club has enjoyed unprecedented success. Our first XI has won the Essex League Premiership four times, as well as the ECB National Club Championship in 2017. We have six adult teams, a thriving ladies section, and juniors who regularly win the key Essex competitions at all age groups.

But, like every great club, we are always looking for ways to improve. To help us build on our recent achievements on the field, our facilities need to be upgraded urgently. We have identified what we need: new, state-of-the-art ECB-certified nets, the same kind the players use at Lord’s - and to fund their installation we need to raise £75,000. We also plan to complete the refurbishment of our clubhouse, aiming to have all this work done by the start of the 2020 season.

Yes, it’s an ambitious target. But we’re an ambitious club. We will be exploring every avenue to achieve this, and a whole range of events, initiatives and activities are being planned over the next 12 months to help us raise the money. We're calling this fundraising drive 'Project Heron'.

So please: give as generously as you can. You’ll be helping us to future-proof the club for generations to come.

About the club: Wanstead & Snaresbrook CC is one of the leading amateur cricket clubs in the south-east of England. Based on Overton Drive in Wanstead, East London, the club was founded in 1866 and recently celebrated its 150th anniversary. We are an ECB-accredited, friendly, inclusive, culturally-diverse club with 220 adult members and 360 junior members. We work closely with the local community, schools and the London Borough of Redbridge.

How it Works
  1. You are donating to PayPal Giving Fund UK, a registered charity (No. 1110538), which will email you a receipt for your donation and claim Gift Aid where eligible.
  2. GoFundMe’s platform is free. The charity will typically receive the funds from PayPal Giving Fund within 15-45 days of your donation if the charity has enrolled (or 90 days if the charity has not yet enrolled). Unlike other platforms, 100% of any Gift Aid will go to the charity as well.
* In very limited cases, a recommended charity may cease to meet PayPal Giving Fund's legal or other eligibility requirements. In such cases, PayPal Giving Fund will reassign the funds to a similar charity, and (wherever possible) seek a new recommendation from donors.
