The Ingram Dunes in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina are the Highest Relic Dunes on the Coast of South Carolina. The undulating dunes rise to 50 ft. above sea level and are covered with old growth forest including nests of live oaks and cedars. They are between 12,000 and 80,000 years old.

These magnificent dunes are under imminent threat of being clear cut and bulldozed to put in 31 houses. Plans have already been submitted to the North Myrtle Beach Planning Dept.

The Ingram Dunes are located between Hillside and Strand Ave and between 9th & 10th Ave South in the heart of North Myrtle Beach.  They are the last untouched relic dunes system on the SC coast. They host a variety of gorgeous live oaks, simple walking trails, a great horned owl, foxes, and a multitude of other species that call this their home.

Most of the surrounding land has been sold off to developers, and this is the last remaining area of the beach's natural history. The thought of this unique place being destroyed just for housing is appalling, as a lot of houses in the area built on previously wooded habitats still sit there unused! These reasons are why we think the state, city, and its citizens need to join together with us and preserve this beautiful place. There is already a group of locals fighting to protect it, but we need more help!

Our goal is to show the City of NMB, the family who owns the property, the developers, that there is an overwhelming desire to preserve this area as a wildlife habitat, natural land form & simple walking trails.

The land is privately owned and therefore it needs to be purchased from the owners by citizens, the city, and conservation organizations. The money raised will go towards that purchase.

The primary purpose of this Go Fund Me is to show broad, real support from the larger community for preservation.  These funds will be held in escrow until the purchase is complete.

With your help and support, this amazing and beautiful piece of land can be saved for all life to enjoy.

Great news...the developer dropped out!! So now the city of North Myrtle Beach has the opportunity to buy this amazing piece of land and preserve it! All our hard work is finally paying off! :)

The city has openly said they are in negotiations with the owner of Ingram Dunes to find a reasonable price, but they still will need help from us, the citizens, as it's a lot of money. Info on how to help is below!

They have set up a donation fund themselves through the city that you can send a check to that will be tax deductible AND if for whatever reason the negotiation falls through (hopefully it won't), all the money will be refunded--win-win!

The information to send donations to the city is as follows:
-Make a check out to City of North Myrtle Beach with Ingram Dunes or Ingram Dunes Fund in the memo
-Drop off or mail to City Hall: 1018 2nd Ave S, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582

In light of this development, I assure you all money raised on this campaign will STILL be used for the preservation and purchase of Ingram Dunes.
I will also be leaving this up in case donors don't have checks, prefer to use credit cards, or whatever the reason.

Great news all around and thanks to your support, the scales are tipping in our favor!

Thank you for the support! We just had a small, but crucial victory at the Planning Commission meeting--they upheld their decision to not act on full grading of the dunes!

Our work is not done yet, though. Unfortunately, it is still under contract, but we have stalled them some more, which gives us more time to gather funds and more support.

This place WILL be saved and all thanks to your help!
