Help One of Our Own

I have been Andre Lima’s friend for a couple of years now. Our love for The Smiths, Morrissey, and animals brought us close as friends. Brazilian-born, Dre lives in Miami, where I am originally from, and our bond is that like family. But I live in the Midwest and I am powerless, as my friend has fallen on tough times. He is no longer employed due to downsizing and his bills keep mounting as he continues to look for work. We have all had rough patches, but have had family and friends to fall back on. He doesn’t have anyone in Miami: no wife, or girlfriend, nowhere to go to. He faces homelessness.

My orphan friend needs help and I alone do not posses the funds to magically take this burden away. I can only help the best I can and get my friends and his friends and Our friends to put our heads and hearts together. We can help him get back on track. If you know André, you know that he finds solace in looking after the strays in downtown Miami. He was using his resources to help his neighbors feed these helpless orphans. His animal friends are capable of great love and appreciation, but do not have the means to pay it forward. Help me, help him. I cannot do it alone.

I know he is loved and his human friends love him as much as I do. Here in this world, people are friendly, but nobody's friends. Let's change that. Let's show kindness to One of Our Own.

Ajude Um dos Nossos

Sou amigo do André Lima há alguns anos. Nosso amor por Smiths, Morrissey, e animais nos aproximou como amigos. Nascido no Brasil, Dre mora em Miami, de onde eu sou originalmente, e nosso vínculo é como de uma família. Mas eu moro no Centro-Oeste e não posso fazer muito, enquanto meu amigo entrou em tempos difíceis. Ele não tem mais um emprego devido a um corte, suas contas se acumulam enquanto ele continua a procurar trabalho. Nós todos passamos por tempos difíceis, mas temos família e amigos com quem podemos contar. Ele não tem ninguém em Miami: família, esposa, ou namorada, e nenhum lugar para ir. Logo ele vai ser um sem-teto.

Meu amigo órfão precisa de ajuda e eu sozinha não tenho dinheiro para magicamente tirar esse fardo. Eu só posso ajudar fazendo o melhor possível, e fazer com que meus amigos e seus amigos e nossos amigos juntem nossas cabeças e nossos corações. Podemos ajudá-lo a voltar aos trilhos. Se você conhece o André, você sabe que ele encontra consolo em cuidar dos gatos de rua no centro de Miami. Ele estava usando seus recursos para ajudar seus vizinhos a alimentar esses órfãos indefesos. Seus amigos animais são capazes de grande amor e apreço, mas não têm os meios para retribuir. Ajude-me, ajude-o. Eu não consigo fazer isso sozinha.

Eu sei que ele é amado e seus amigos humanos o amam tanto quanto eu. Aqui neste mundo, as pessoas são amigáveis, mas ninguém é amigo de ninguém. Vamos mudar isso. Vamos mostrar bondade a Um dos Nossos.

I lost my job in an IT company here in Miami in February.
I barely made to pay my bills for March.

Finding a new job proved to be very difficult in my situation, even applying to several companies, everyday.

Not finding a job, I did some Airbnb, and made just enough for the April rent.

But I got fined by my building in $4,300.

Now, my May rent is due, for $1,900.

I've talked to a lawyer to review my case, and all of the building fines can be disputed as everything they did was utterly unlawful.

But I need help. I need money, to pay the process ($500) and to pay the rent.
