UPDATE: Thank you all for your donations! We have officially met the $1,200 goal, but since the response has been so positive, I am extending the goal to $1,500 so we may further the mission and provide toiletry items, blankets and towels to those in need. This is truly amazing and I am overcome with joy that you all have decided to sow into Plates of Plenty.

The day after Christmas, most people wake up to family cheer, the excitement of new gifts and countless plates of leftovers from the feast the day before. But unfortunately for many, what is supposed to be a time of laughter and light is plagued by loneliness and hunger. While we enjoy food and family, the homeless are forced to visit shelters to receive warm food, then return to the unpredictability of not knowing where their next meal will come from. The mission of The Day After: Plates of Plenty is to extend the Christmas Day festivities one more day and deliver home cooked Christmas dinners to the homeless population in Huntsville, AL on December 26.
In order to make this possible, we need your help in raising $1,200. The money will allow us to purchase all of the food, water and materials needed to serve approximately 150 people in need. In all of the happiness surrounding the holidays, it is easy for us to forget about those who are struggling. Help us create joy and peace this Christmas by donating to The Day After: Plates of Plenty.
Any additional donations will be used to make care packages for those in need.
