Citizens for Plainfield Twp Trails

“Citizens for Plainfield Township Trails” has a vision.  That vision is to connect Plainfield Township neighborhoods, schools, parks, and retail areas with a network of non-motorized pathways.  But, in order for that vision to become a reality, an upcoming township millage request will need to be approved on August 2.   We have launched a campaign to educate and answer questions so that voters will see the wonderful benefits that a yes vote will bring.  The campaign will include a website, flyers, posters, mailings, public forums, and yard signs.

We are already fortunate to have the well-known and well-used Fred Meijer White Pine Trail literally bisecting the township diagonally from the southwest corner to the northeast corner.  The proposed network would be connected to the beautiful White Pine at multiple locations.  The network would allow walkers, joggers, rollerbladers, and bicyclists to navigate from point A to point B separate from the dangers that cars and trucks pose to non-motorized use of current roadways.  The network would allow these same adults and children to better enjoy the natural beauty of the township while getting valuable exercise at the same time.  The network would provide township residents access to trails in adjacent townships and cities and beyond.  Bottom line, the network would heighten the quality of life in the township.  A recent survey revealed that trail development is the number one parks and recreation priority of the township residents.  Please help us make sure that those surveyed are well represented at the ballot box on August 2.  We thank you for your support.
