Help Preserve WWII Heroes' Legacies

Hi, my name is Zach Coco. I've created a non-profit called Pictures for Heroes.
My mission is to interview and photograph as many WWII Veterans as possible. I hope to document and preserve their bravery and sacrifices for current and future generations to learn from. There are no comic books written about these men and women, however, they are real-life Super Heroes and we must show them the admiration and appreciation they deserve while we have the chance.
I will be traveling the country to meet and document as many Heroes as possible. The project will culminate in a  hardcover coffee table book featuring the stories and portraits of each WWII Veteran that I interview.
Donations will allow me to focus exclusively on this project. All funds will go directly to this mission, and allow me to travel state to state, Hero to Hero. The time is now and I fear we have missed too many stories already. From over 16,000,000 who served in WWII, we have roughly 500,000 remaining, with hundreds dying every day.
These are the men and women who answered the call of duty, typically at a very young age. They fought and won, against the tyranny and oppression that threatened the very freedoms we enjoy every day.  They are the Greatest Generation, they are our mothers and fathers, our brothers and sisters, our grandparents, and we must honor them and let them know they are appreciated and will never be forgotten.
It is imperative that we document and preserve the lives and experiences that they have been through.  We must act now.
My Grandfather was a WWII Veteran, and he is the inspiration for this project.
It wasn't until his passing, that I realized the opportunity I missed by not interviewing him. I know how much I would appreciate being able to have his story recorded, so I want to provide that for other families.  Every time I do an interview, it feels like I get to spend another day with my grandfather, and for that, I am forever grateful.
Every Veteran that is interviewed will receive a copy of the images, a copy of the book, and a video DVD of the interview for their family to have forever.
After publication, all proceeds from sales will go towards Veteran organizations and help fund future projects honoring our more recent War Veterans. We pledge to dedicate 20% of the proceeds to the Honor Flight program.
For every book purchased, we will donate a book to a school or library.
Please help me complete my mission.

2017 has been a good year. I have conducted 31 new interviews. With all of the generous contributions from everyone, I hope to at least double that total in 2018. Thank you to everyone for your support and please help to continue spreading the word! Here are some of the faces we've captured this year.

My father, Mitchell S. Cwiek, passed away Monday. He was interviewed by someone for a video. I found your site through a thread of emails that led up to his interview. These veteran's stories need to be kept alive as a reminder of America's Greatest Generation.
