Welcome to Pickering (Pickering in Business, The Officials) and the Local Businesses are looking to raise £12,000 to reinstall CCTV within Pickering. The yearly running/maintenance cost of the new system will be £3000, the first year is already covered and we are aiming with grants from the local councils and fundraising this target will be easily acheiveable year on year. Unlike the old system the cameras being installed will be able to give a 360 degree view from their position and be monitored 24/7 from Scarborough Police Station. In total there will be 12 cameras, 3 locations each with 4 cameras.
We feel that this will benefit the community as a whole, whether you are a resident, have a business or a visitor to the town.
Unfortunately over recent times the town has been subjected to an increase in antisocial behavior, the beautiful Teak Carriages at NYMR were vandalised, numerous windows have been broken, the beautiful flowers, which Pickering in Bloom give their time for on a weekly basis, have been pulled out of their planters.. the list could go on.
As a non profit organisation Welcome to Pickering (Pickering in Business) are asking for help to make Pickering the best it can be and really feel that this new system will aid us all in protecting our beautiful town and community. 
Currently our order for the new system is on hold due to needing to raise the funds where as other market towns in the area are ahead of the game and are looking to install in the immediate future.
