LEYMAR* would like you to support Operation Bags of Hope by making a donation and spreading the word.
Youth suicide is on the rise. More teenagers and young adults die from suicide than cancer, heart disease, AIDS, birth defects, stroke pneumonia, influenza, and chronic lung disease, COMBINED. Between 2009 and 2015, Arizona’s annual child suicide rate has increased by a stunning 81%. Almost twice as many people die by suicide in Arizona annually than by homicide. Nationally, four out of five teens who attempt suicide have given clear warning signs.
Our mission here is to help our overwhelmed school system in Arizona by providing their counselors and teachers with a tool to help any child or teen who is thinking of committing suicide or suffering from depression. We want this tool to show them that someone cares, that someone wants to support them, that someone loves them.
Our plan is to produce packs with useful tools for a teen or child who is suffering from depression or contemplating suicide. It's something they can touch and hold. The pack will contain about 10 items: journal, pen, pack of seeds or nuts, or other healthy snacks, perhaps an iTunes, Target, movie gift card(s), and the most important items, resources that are available to them. We will be reaching out to teachers and counselors to improve our pack.
Our goal is to have 10 Bags of Hope per school in the valley by this coming school year. There are 401 schools in Phoenix and the cost per pack is $30 to $40.

100% of your donation will go toward the Bags of Hope. We have a group of dedicated and caring volunteers that will prep, pack, and deliver.

Our mission is to support, empower, uplift, and inspire humanity through alternative therapies such as yoga, meditation, reflexology, and deep breathing techniques.
