Support Us to Preserve the Residential Quality of Life & Property Values in East Hanover.

For three years, we’ve been battling a Developer’s application to convert 2.5 acres of a Single-Family Residentially Zoned piece of property into an Industrial Zone. 

In 2015, the developer wanted to knock down the existing single-family house and build a  20,000 square foot Industrial Warehouse to operate 7 days a week with heavy truck traffic. 

We won that two-year legal battle. 

Now, in 2018, the developer wants to knock down the same single-family house in the middle of three adjacent residential developments (Heritage Drive, River Road, and Georgian Court) to build a smaller scale Industrial Warehouse to operate 7 days a week, with an additional 2,900 square feet of open storage space, and space to park overnight heavy equipment construction vehicles. If that isn’t enough, the developer wants to build an additional 7-unit multi-family affordable housing structure for rentals or sale on the same site—within spitting distance of the Industrial Warehouse.

If this is approved by the East Hanover Zoning Board, it can send a dangerous message out to other developers that may attempt the same development on other plots of land in East Hanover. Help us continue the fight to preserve the Residential Quality in Life in East Hanover. If our home values depreciate because of this proposed industrial/multi-family affordable housing development, it will affect your home value too. When a house is being sold, an appraiser looks for comparable sales in the whole town to get a bank loan approved. When our homes depreciate in value, your home will too. Single-Family Residential zones should have less noise, less traffic, less unsightly industrial views, and less housing density per acre. If this project is approved, it will open Pandora’s box to allow developers to propose more profitable industrial ventures in our residential neighborhoods.

A Lawyer from a highly reputable law firm, with over 30 years of experience fighting zoning cases. He comes highly recommended and specializes in zoning disputes.

A Planner with 30 years of experience, a bevy of accolades, and has also worked as a Town Manager for two municipalities.

An Expert Environmental Engineer with over 40 years of experience performing on field research and surveying. A college professor as well, his knowledge in the field of environmental engineering is unmatched and nigh unquestionable.

A Real Estate Broker and Developer with over 40 years of experience who has spent a number of those years working on large industrial developments.

Together they have crafted an airtight opposition to the applicant's plan and have presented testimony chronicling many of the negative effects this proposed project will have on the quality of life in East Hanover. Furthermore, the environmental engineer testified that the applicant’s land may, in fact, be qualified as a wetland and could possibly have been contaminated over the past several years. This presents a detriment to the citizens of East Hanover in particular as we rely on well water in the town.

These professionals have highlighted a cornucopia of issues with the applicant's proposal and continue to find more as they work feverishly on behalf of the citizens of our town.

However, their quality of work comes with a price tag.
