NI Brewery 36 hr Charity Challenge
NI Brewery 36 hr Challenge (in association with Fastway Couriers NI)
On 15th & 16 August 2016 I will motorbike almost 500 miles to visit all of Northern Ireland's physical breweries (currently 24) in 36 hours. I'm doing this to raise funds to maintain a specially equipped Hoyt running chair and accessories for a young County Antrim boy.
Ethan is a seven year old Ballymena boy who, at the age of 18 months, was diagnosed with the life limiting illness Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a muscle wasting disorder that, by the age of approximately 10, will require Ethan to utilise full time a manual wheel due to the loss of power in his legs and, by early teens, Ethan will require the use of a powered wheelchair due to the loss of power in his arm muscles. Ethan's life expectancy is currently mid to late teens. Currently there is NO CURE or TREATMENT for DMD. It is 100% fatal. 
Please help us to help Ethan enjoy the things every little boy should, such as the outdoors. His family and friends are active runners and would really love Ethan to continue enjoying what they enjoy - the thrill of crossing the finish line.
This is the proposed route for the 36 hour challenge. Starting at mine in Carrickfergus, heading through County Antrim to the north coast, on to Derry/Londonderry, into Tyrone and overnighting in Enniskillen. Next day onwards to South Down, Ards peninsula, Belfast and Lisburn. Then finally back to Carrickfergus ... easy huh?! And any - cough - 'donations' ;-) received from the breweries will be auctioned or balloted to raise even more cash.
