Quillan Puppy in need of 2 full hip replacements
Donation protected
Hello, my name is MaryAnn,
And this is sweet Quillan’s story
Just recently, at 9 Months old, Quillan was diagnosed with
The most Severe Hip Dysplasia in both of his hips,
Here is Quillan’s story..
Quillan was not dealt the best hand,
Both of his hips on the right and left side each have ball and sockets that do not fit or meet, with one of the sockets being almost flat, both hips literally floating within.
Causing pain, weakness and lack of mobility, already showing signs of atrophy, all of this will denigrate further with time.
His veterinarian Dr. Onorati with DesMoines Vetrinary Hospital sent us for a consultation at Animal Surgical and Orthopedic Center Seattle where we met with Dr. Thoesen DVM ACVS His expertise well known in this area with over 20 years of experience.
The choice for him to be able to have a full life was clear.
He will need two total hip replacements.
Up to this point, having spent more than $1000, I understand and see that I will quickly be in over my head.
The cost for Quillan to have two total hip replacements will be 25,000.00
The funds raised would make it possible for him to have the surgeries that he needs.
I cried (a lot..) and was lost for a moment.. then quickly understood that the fight for his ability to have a life now begins.
I will be by his side and Always will fight for him to win!
For him to be able to have the best and full life!
Still just a puppy he so deserves to be able to move and run and play and not to be in pain.
I so appreciate the time and consideration any may have for Quillan’s journey
Thank you so very much…
Below I have written a bit as to the beginning of his story and my place within it,
Rescued in Texas by GPRS (Great Pyrenees Rescue), the surviving puppies, four boys and two girls at just five days old, along with their mother Indy, were known as the “W” litter,
Indy was brave as she fiercely fended off wildlife to save most of her precious litter..
They ultimately made their way to the Pacific NW where i was to foster 2 of the puppies to find the best homes.. well it was a relatively quick “foster fail..!” as i kept one:) Now Quillan.
(Soon finding a perfect home for the other boy as well)
I have both fostered and adopted for gprs and have come to not only Love and appreciate this breed but to understand them..
They are Stoic, Smart, Loving, Stubborn, Protective, sometimes Noisy, Sweet, Cuddly… And so much more..
I have been shown the often tireless work that is done by the volunteers
they often amaze and inspire me,
I feel their heartfelt commitment and compassion, as they make me feel as though I am not alone in this journey..
Thank you, Julie Rabeau and many others.
