Naplate Village Emergency Siren Sys

WHO WE ARE
Crosscom Ministries is a 501c3 non-profit ministry that raises funds for many needs.  We have raised money for Feed the Children, Compassion International, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Western DuPage Special Recreation Association, blood: water mission, Global Family Rescue, Food for the Hungry, Special Olympics and the Disaster Relief for Haiti.

WHY ARE WE RAISING FUNDS
We are currently fundraising for the Village of Naplate, IL (apx population just under 500) for a tornado siren alert system that they lost in the recent tornado late Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2017.  On Friday March 3, 2017 I met with Mayor James Rick and Michelle a volunteer for The Salvation Army.  It was determined at that time that a donation of funds earmarked to the Village of Naplate – Tornado would be the best vs donating water, food, etc.  Mayor Rick also mentioned that there would be a Town Meeting on Saturday so I agreed to come back with a donation check and see how else we could help out.

THE TOWN MEETING
On Saturday March 4th I arrived and saw the Mayor and met Fire Chief John Nevins, IL State Representative Jerry Long, IL Senator Sue Rezin and Divisional Disaster Services Assistant Director with The Salvation Army Benny Benedict.  We passed on our donation to The Salvation Army earmarked for the citizens of Naplate, However, we later heard from the fire chief that their emergency warning sirens were lost in the tornado also.  After talking with Senator Rezin and Representative Long we decided to look in to the legality of setting up a GoFundMe page.  We just heard from our attorney John Gutzke with Rolewick & Gutzke, P.C. (who donated their time to verify this) and it is within our perimeter to raise money for the Village!

WHEN THE FUNDS ARE NEEDED
We would like to get the funds ASAP so we can return peace of mind and safety to this great community.  We are currently working with the Village to access exactly what type of equipment they are in need of and have already called the Village of Roselle Chief, Steve Herron for technical information and recommendations of companies that he has used in the past.  The reason for Roselle is that my dad was the former Police Chief of Roselle and knew a little about this.  Chief Herron was very informative and has an extensive background in emergency systems.  I have already spoken with John Vistine of Fulton Technology Inc. which has installed according to Chief Herron approximately 75-80% of the systems in DuPage County.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a great opportunity to help out wonderful people and it is my prayer that many will stand with us in this effort.  100% of all donations (after GoFundMe fees) will be sent to the Village for this project.  Crosscom Ministries is donating resources and time and will not be financially compensated in any way from this effort.

May God bless you and keep you!
