Tiny House Huge Purpose

Elvis Summers   LOS ANGELES, CA
One of the most basic fundamental necessities in life is shelter. With well over a half a million women, children, veterans and families homeless in this grand ol' US of A and with numbers growing daily it's becoming much more difficult to stereotype the homeless as just drug addict bums who "chose" to be or "did it to themselves. There are hundreds of thousands of Human beings who have been forced into being on the streets with nowhere to go and once they get there, are treated as trash and less of a person and criminals. Many cities have criminalized being homeless.

Being homeless is NOT a crime. The true crime is how we as human being look at and treat people that are homeless. Some people don't, but MOST homeless people want help and are desperate to get off the streets. Many to most are loosing hope or have already lost it and are simply dying, homeless and hungry.

How can a person begin to hope and raise themselves up if they only have the dirt beneath their feet to rest their face upon? Everyone can help. Even $1 can make a difference, a difference so big that it literally saves someone's life.

Everyone needs purpose in life. (At least one) It's what drives us. If u have purpose, you have hope.

This Welcome Home: A Tiny House, Huge Purpose Project, is to build tiny house's for homeless Woman, Men, Children, US Veterans and Families who are homeless. Human Beings, not "bums or trash" who need a little humanity, a little help to get off the streets. Please open your hearts and lend a hand by donating whatever you can (even if it's only $1) to help build a tiny home for someone's child, someone's mother, someone's brother, sister, cousin, someone's grandma or a US Veteran and give Hope, Purpose and a chance, back to someone who has lost everything and desperately needs a little help.

Let's Start Being Human!

Thank You!

**FINAL UPDATE FOR THIS ORIGINAL CAMPAIGN**

AND Some Special NEWS at the Bottom!

Wow! What a life changing, crazy adventure this year has been! It has been the most humbling experience of my life. I have accomplished so many wonderful things and helped thousands of people, inspired at the very least hundreds of people, made an incredible amount of new friends and created change.

I owe all of this to YOU! ALL of you! Everyone that has made donations, shared and liked posts, talked about it, volunteered, wrote letters and/or emails, gotten involved and most importantly believed in me. There are no words to express my feelings and gratitude.

THANK YOU! <3

Although i have already started a new gofundme campaign months ago to keep on building and helping as many people as i can, which most of you im sure are aware of, this campaign, the original one has remained open and running because im attached to all the wonderful comments and memories it has brought, and (mostly) because iv'e been so busy 7 days a week morning to night that i haven't had the time to figure out how to shut it off! lol

It is time to turn this campaign (Tiny House Huge Purpose) off and Focus on the future and the New Campaign. (Tiny House Huge Purpose Two) That being said I will be changing a few things around, Streamlining things and promoting the new campaign and links so we can really get things going to where the need to be. ONE thing that has slowed this down, has been the lack of a 501(c)3 Non Profit Status to work with. I AM a registered Charity, and Incorporated with the State of California, however I haven't had the chance to slow down for 5 min to finalize my paperwork, Until NOW.

Not only am I Finishing said paperwork and getting it filed, but I have Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with THE VET HUNTERS PROJECT (Who are Amazing Like Minded Souls Who's Goals are to End Homelessness as Well) and we have partnered up in a Fiscal Sponsorship...WHICH MEANS......I have a 501(c)3 to Give Everyone Now! Wooo Hoooo!!!! (About Damn Time Right?!) So Moving Forward with the new Campaign as of NOW...

Please Please Please if you can, Make a donation and help us Launch Forward!

Your Donation will help us reach our goal of building proper tiny house communities, with ALL the other essential items that are needed (Showers, Bathrooms, Laundry Etc) to truly help these people without homes, have a chance to Escape and Empower themselves to rise above the horrible conditions and trauma they have had to endure being stuck in the streets.
Your Donations can now be Tax Deductible and you may also participate in a Charitable Donation Match from your Work if they offer it. Donations through Gofundme will no longer be excepted on this campaign, but will be on the other campaign. This will also terminate any reoccurring monthly donations some of you have set up. I humbly ask that if you wish to continue your automatic monthly donation that you set it again on the other campaign. Although here to you it will all be the same, on our back end of things, we have set up new accounts that are linked to the 501(c)3 and The Vet Hunters Project. Tax Deductible Receipts will be available and sent to you per your request.

One Again, Thank You ALL for all your Continued Support! I love you! and as Always #ShareTheGood

Yesterday Was World Habitat Day...

World Habitat Day is the one day set aside annually to recognize the basic right of all humanity to adequate shelter, and to encourage grassroots action toward ending poverty housing. The United Nations General Assembly declared in 1985 that the first Monday in October would be World Habitat Day

This is What I did for it...Do you know what The City Council Did??.....

I myself am homeless at the moment. Despite what many think, I am not an addict, I am not lazy, this wa not a conscious choice. I'm college educated, hardworking, and intelligent; just trying to keep my head above water while swirling in this whirlpool of sh*t. I 100% support your mission but unfortunately cannot donate any $. I will share this with my FB friends & help raise awareness that way. I wish you the best of luck with this campaign! Continue spreading Love & Light to the world!

Have you ever considered buying a piece of land and building a tiny house community for these people? Is this a possibility? That way they don't have to worry about police or neighbors causing a problem, and they will have a permanent place until they can get on their feet?

I can not tell you how much this touched me. Some of us really want to help the homeless, the hungry, even the abandoned animals but we just don't know where or how to start so thank you for doing this. I give monthly to Wounded Warrior Project and to the ASPCA but that's just the start for me. Seeing stories like this makes me want to do even more to help out.

We should join forces! We are a 501(3)( c) non-profit who is working on this exact model in Los Angeles. Check out our website at ThriveLA.org (Tiny Houses + Respect +Integration = Veterans Excel in Los Angeles). We are focusing on using shipping containers to provide affordable housing as well as creating wrap-around services to provide a sustainable community for homeless veterans where they can grow their own food, provide services to one another (and receive services) and develop a sense of home. You can also find us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ThriveLA.Org We're also planning to meet with the Mayor. Let's talk!!
