Support Search and Rescue

Mountain Wave Emergency Communications is an all volunteer, 501(c)3 Oregon non-profit agency that has been providing Search and Rescue services to local, state, and federal agencies and supporting the community for more than 25 years.   We do not receive local, County, State or Federal funding, and rely upon generous donations from the public.  

Last year we responded to 195 missions. Throughout the year our team locates lost, missing, and injured people all around the region.  We also support local events and other nonprofit agencies.

You may have seen our communications rigs, drones, or canine teams on local or national news stories.  Recently one of our canine teams received a lot of coverage when they located a missing 2 Y/O child that had been missing overnight.  The child is doing well and the team has received awards for saving his life.

Our 4x4 team also transported key employees for local hospitals and the County, to and from work, and delivered blankets to shelters during the bad weather and difficult road conditions last winter.

We are asking for your help to allow us to keep our building in Sandy, Oregon.  The rent on the building has been donated the past few years but they are no longer able to continue the donation.  We use the building to house our communications rig, emergency equipment and supplies.  We also use the building for meetings, training, and an emergency operations center.  Keeping the vehicle in Sandy allows us to respond to incidents on Mt. Hood and the Gorge quickly.
