Note: Any funds received over our goal will be donated to Wyoming non-profits that empower women and if we go way above our goal we will potentially subscribe some county and municipal legislators. Thank you!
Vision: to raise awareness of women’s issues in Wyoming and begin a conversation with our elected officials. We are fundraising to subscribe our elected officials to Ms. magazine for two years to help in the conversation.
Who will be subscribed to Ms. through this campaign?
Every single Wyoming state house representative (60) and state senator (30), top state elected officials including: the Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and State Treasurer, as well as the Wyoming Attorney General. And federally: our two senators and one representative. Each will also receive our letter of intent (see below).
What is Ms. magazine?
Ms. has been the voice of women and politics since 1971. It has an expansive and inclusive outlook on issues both nationally and internationally. We think Ms. will be a wonderful tool for legislators both experienced and inexperienced in lobbying for women.

Why does Wyoming need awareness raising?
Wyoming has the largest gender pay gap in the country, the smallest percentage of women in its state legislature, and is among the costliest for spending on childcare in relation to income. It faces continuing cuts in publicly funded family planning and women’s health services. Wyoming mandates only the bare federal minimum wage and offers only the unpaid family and medical leave required by the federal government. Health care and insurance are expensive and are often inaccessible to single mothers and low-income women.
Who is a part of the campaign to get Ms. to Wyoming?
This campaign was started by a nonpartisan grassroots group of women's advocates living in Sublette County, Wyoming. We invite our fellow Wyomingites (women and men) to join us by adding their signatures to the letter of intent (donation not necessary, use contact link on this page).
How will your gift be used?
To purchase 99, 2-year Ms. magazine subscriptions.
Postage, paper and printing of our letters.

Any money raised beyond our goals will be used to further organizations that advocate for women in the state of Wyoming.

We are offering gifts for various donation levels that include a sticker postcard (pink on clear), blank "Bring the Promise of Equality" postcards, and a T-shirt printed in Laramie (pink on black).
Letter of Intent to be sent to all legislators:
Dear [Legislator Name],
We write as a group of Wyoming women interested in starting a conversation about equality in the state. To begin, we are sending you a two-year subscription to Ms. magazine. The magazine will provide you with an important perspective on the issues faced by women in the nation and state today. We are concerned that Wyoming legislators have too often ignored women. We ask you to write and support better legislation to improve the lives of half our population, half of your constituents.

As Wyoming moves forward with planning its future, where are women in your plans? Will you craft better legislation to bring us to our “Equality State” promise?
Finally, we ask you; can Wyoming afford to ignore women? We think not.
