We are excited to be teaming up with the City of Alvarado to bring an INCLUSIVE PARK to our community! The City Council has already approved the purchase of some amazing playground equipment as well as the Pour And Play safe surfacing for our renovation of Moore Park, We the community will be raising money to update the surrounding park area. New sidewalks, lighting, fencing, shade and parking area are all in need of replacement and updating. These are the things that we will complete with the funds raised.
The park that we have designed t is NOT specifically designed for kids with disabilities, it’s just designed smarter so that kids ofALL abilities are playing together!
Instead of assuming a one-size-fits-all user experience, inclusive design aims to serve a wide range of abilities and ways of interacting with the others side by side. When inclusive structures are included in a park, you now have kids with all levels of abilities playing together, kids with physical, developmental or sensory issues are now playing side by side with all the other kids, Now you are promoting teamwork, cooperation and ability awareness in young kids that grow into more considerate and compassionate adults.
We are excited to be the first inclusive park in Johnson County. Our inclusive park design considers from the very beginning how something might be easily used and enjoyed by as many people’s needs and abilities as possible.
Please donate at any level that you can and pass the link on to everyone. Every kid should have the opportunity to play in the park, we can make that happen!
