Dear friends,
We are writing to you from the Montagnard Dega Association (MDA)/Montagnard American Organization in Greensboro, NC. We want to thank you for your support by these past years. MDA mission is to unite and strengthen fraternal ties of all persons of Montagnard heritage and create an environment conducive for us to have opportunities to meet, understand and mutually help each other.
As Montagnard refugee resettlement decreased, the board decided to expand the mission and scope of the organization to include assistance to other refugee populations. Even though there are less resettlement of Montaganard people in Greensboro, there are still many Montagnards in the community still seek MDA’s help with different services. Some of the services MDA provides are employment service, social service, referral (U.S. citizenship, green card), English class through the Women’s Learning Group, doctor appointment, home visit, transportation, interpretation, college application, and financial aid application.
With many community members seek our assistant, we are overwhelm and understaffed. We are launching this campaign to help raise money for the organization to hire a case management personnel and to build a scholarship fund for future students. As we continued to assist the Montagnard community members (especially the elders) and other refugee populations with different series, we are asking for your help to make a small contribution toward the work we are doing at MDA, so that we may continue to assist those who are in need in the community.
