Reconnecting with our Elders

We are Indigenous women seeking to get four elders to our women' s retreat. Many of our elders live on very low fixed incomes and some are disabled. Because many live far from the retreat location, their travel expenses are high. None of them can afford the transportation expense to attend our retreat.

Their attendance will be spiritually healing for them as well as for our young women. These retreats are often a last chance for them to interact with the community and share their teachings with others.

Many elders have passed away without having the opportunity and/or funds to attend these gatherings.

We will appreciate any help given. A signed thank you note with a photo from the elders who attend will be given to those who generously support this worthwhile effort.
