He had his appendix removed as well.  For the next 7 days Mikah was under the watchful eyes of doctors at Primary Children's Medical Center.  They couldn't understand why his fevers would not break and his intestines would not "wake up." Unfortunately, his bowels were still leaking bile which eventually led to a second life saving surgery.  It is truly a miracle this little boy survived.  At this time, he is still in the hospital and there is no projected ‘go home’ date. Mikah is a fighter and they are hopeful for a quick recovery. His parents are extremely grateful for the prayers and support. ❤️❤️❤️ The intention of this page is to help Aubrey and Blake raise money to pay Mikah's hospital bills.  Mikah's accident was unexpected and Blake has missed a lot of work to care for his son.  Any money raised over the goal will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House.  Aubrey is forever grateful for the sanctuary it provides during this very difficult time.  Again, thank you for your love, support, and prayers.

Yesterday marked four weeks since we first came to the hospital. Although that might not sound like a long time I’ll quote Mikah “mom, how many years have we been here?” .....
Ya buddy, if feels like years to me too.
5 surgeries, 6 procedures & Multiple x-rays, CT scans, needle pokes, tubes down the nose & sleepless painful nights later I just got word we Finally get to leave!!!
To think all this heartache & pain was caused by 14 magnets that equaled the size of 3 small peas is Unreal. It only takes 1 moment & 1 mistake to change your life and we have definitely learned that this last month. We are hoping to put November behind us & Focus on Mikahs recovery at home during our favorite time of year ✨Christmas ☃️.
We are so humbled and Thankful beyond words for ALL our family, friends & community that rallied behind us & sent up prayers ❤️for Mikah. They were felt & we know we witnessed miracles.
During my time here I’ve spoken with other parents & read their stories that have experienced similar tragedies with these same magnets & some of their children were not as fortunate as Mikah. I mourn for those families. These things are deadly.☠️ We can’t stress that enough.
We are also so Thankful for all the visitors that came to cheer not only Mikah UP but me as well as I struggled to maintain strength & sanity during this trial. You guys are AMAZING
The meals, gifts, donations & time given bring me to tears. You all made an incredibly difficult time in our lives easier and we hope we can someday repay your generosity
I’m Soo grateful for my Savior & the comfort I constantly pulled from him. There is Power in Prayer, faith & Blessings.
We love you Guys!!!

Mikahs out of surgery & already doing LEGOS!! The surgery went really well. They closed up his abdomen using inside stitches & left 2 drainage spots to help prevent further infection. He did have to get a feeding tube, which he's not thrilled about, but we're hoping he'll only need it for a week or 2.
He's in good spirits and excited to have the wound vac out. Once he woke up he pulled down the covers to check it out & had a sense of relief Aubrey & I are feeling that same way right now and so thankful.
Thanks for the prayers today for Mikah!

Mikah update~ since Friday we’ve just been playing the waiting game...
waiting for mikah to start eating more, waiting for him to start drinking more, waiting for his blood work & vitals to all be looking great And waiting for Today so the Surgical team could check his Open wound Again to see if it looks good for surgery to close it up.
GOOD news- it looks great and they’ve scheduled a surgery (his 5th ) for tomorrow. I want to be excited about that but it’s still surgery and my little guy is getting more anxious everyday longer we stay. It’s rough for him to do these procedures & surgeries. I am so Thankful the wound looks good though & that they feel confident with Closing him up
Also he got his PICC line out today!! so Progress there!!
Bad news - he’s still not eating & drinking hardly at all. They started him on a new Med that’s supposed to help with that but so far it’s not. So back to waiting ~
You’d think after going nearly 3 weeks without food or water you couldn’t get enough- but actually your body somewhat rejects it at first. So we are working with a nutrition team & may be putting in a feeding tube tomorrow as well. I know my MIL posted a pic of him w/ a & shake but he literally ate 2 fries & that was it. we know this is Only temporary and that his ‘parts’ all work so just more waiting & gently persuading.
We are hoping to be home by this weekend & we will post when we leave!!! We’re so excited to be all back together & HOME ❤️
We love you All!!!

mikahs out of Surgery, unfortunately the Surgeons weren’t able to close Mikah up today. The risk of infection is still to great and so they cut out dead tissue & put a new wound vacuum on. They’ll try again Next week. This wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for. In the meantime I’m trying to find the words to tell mikah...and my other kids
