Mayoral campaign contributions

There are a few initiatives for data driven information to be used to address the homeless epidemic more effectively. I will be working to make sure that this is addressed aggressively and the right people are involved to my full capacity. There will be more on this in the near future. It's been done in Boston Houston and New York City, there are people who are living proof that this works.

Housing first”: Another proven solution developed in New York City and replicated nationwide is the “housing first” approach to street homelessness, which builds on the success of permanent supportive housing. The “housing first” approach involves moving long-term street homeless individuals — the majority of whom are living with mental illness, substance abuse disorders and other serious health problems — directly into subsidized housing and then linking them to support services, either on-site or in the community. Research studies have found that the majority of long-term street homeless people moved into “housing first” apartments remain stably housed and experience significant improvements in their health problems. Much like permanent supportive housing, the “housing first” approach is far less costly than emergency and institutional care, such as shelters, hospitals and correctional facilities.

Seattle expects to receive more than $150 million in federal funds this year, including $2.6 million in grants from the Department of Justice.

Murray has said he is willing to lose “every penny” of that rather than alter how the city approaches immigration enforcement.

SEATTLE (AP) — Sixteen months after he declared a state of emergency on homelessness, Seattle's mayor is asking voters in this liberal, affluent city for $55 million a year in new taxes to fight the problem.

I am Peter Alcorn, single father of 2. I am simply asking for just the allowable  campaign contribution amount to cover the filing fee and nothing more. The campaign itself wilI be  self financed. I work at Boeing in Everett, WA  and I have a  background in congressional politics. I am gravely concerned about the mental/emotional well being of the many homeless citizens of Seattle, and taxing the residents without a plan is not going to fix the issue.

Policy and Proposals:

$85 million in additional government funding for complying with federal law enforcement

Resuming talks about obtaining an NBA franchise and accompanying venue

Aggressive mental health and drug treatment outreach initiatives with increased metropolitan police presence

Public transit over hall and green transportation options.
