You’re driving through Baton Rouge , Louisiana, and you take a trip down Kilkenney Drive. Last year, you might have received a sweet smile and a wave from Ms. Marlyn Elbert at 4123. She had just finished remodeling and was resting on the porch. If you took a right and parked in her driveway you might have seen her grandkids playing in the backyard.

Fast forward one year and it’s September 2016 . If you take that same trip down Kilenney drive, your heart will ache to see no smile on the porch, but instead piles of ruin stacked high on every street and turn.

After the recent flooding in Baton Rouge many residents have been forced to abandon their homes. Four feet of flood water left nothing for Ms. Marlyn to salvage. No flooring, no sheetrock, no belongings, and no flood insurance to give her hope.

Rebuilding means starting from scratch. Ms. Marlyn doesn’t have thousands of dollars or any means of picking of the pieces, but what she does have is a family of fellow Americans who understand what it’s like to struggle, to suffer, and to persevere.

We’re working together to help Marlyn rebuild, to show her the power of love, and the purpose of community . Join our team to help Ms. Marlyn Elbert and others affected by the flooding in Louisiana. All contributions are greatly appreciated.

One Goal. One Home.
