Hello, and welcome to the March on Lansing!
We are organizing a sister event to the Women's March on Washington on January 21st, 2017.

The March on Lansing Facebook Event

The March on Lansing Website

The goal of this march is to be all inclusive-- it will be a peaceful demonstration in opposition to the wave of hate crimes and violence, and threats of official discrimination that have prolifierated following the election . Allies from any religion, of any race, of all sexual orientations and genders, and of all abilities will stand together as a united front. We want to be clear that we won't tolerate any sexism, bigotry, racism, hate, or intolerance from our elected officials.

We are for a Michigan that respects and protects all its citizens, that celebrates diversity and nurtures the human potential in each of us.

There will be a rally on the steps of the capitol, with speeches by public figures and hopefully some musical performances as well. We had initially hoped to march, but that turned out to be cost prohibitive. So instead we are symbolically marching from all corners of Michigan to gather at the capitol and demonstrate.

This will be a sister event to the Women's March on Washington.

Right now, we are seeking funding to cover the costs of making this event happen, and make it accessible to all who want to attend.  This includes fees and permits, equipment rental, parking and snow removal, ASL and other accessiblility services, etc.

Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback, and if you are interested in helping to shape this event!

Thank you so much!!!
