Mandy's Adoption Fund

Donation protected
I’m adopting!!! I know it sounds crazy to willingly accept the challenge of being a single mom, but I know this is where I am being called and I know I have the support of family and friends to stand with me along the way. While adoption is not cheap and the price of it can be overwhelming, I know God is faithful and will provide the funds. As a young professional taking on the challenge of becoming a single mom, I need financial help to continue forward on this journey. All money raised will go directly towards paying for the legal, medical, and agency fees associated with the adoption of a child. While asking for money is very humbling for me, I would be forever grateful for any donation made (no amount is too small). Continue reading below to learn more about my story and my heart for adoption.

(The one who first made me an aunt!)

(My godson, Judah)

I have always loved kids from a young age. Babysitting in high school, running softball camps through college, and now being an aunt and godmom to some of the coolest kids on the earth. I’ve always dreamed of having kids of my own one day, but have never been very interested in the dating scene. I always thought I would adopt but always assumed that day to be very far off in the future. Throughout my twenties I’ve had the opportunity to travel the world so when I had a chance to go spend New Year’s in Haiti at an orphanage I couldn’t pass up that new adventure. Little did I know how much Haiti would change me. One of my prayers in the weeks leading up to the trip was that I would be able to bond with at least one kid there. The first night in Haiti we arrived at the orphanage and I was overwhelmed at the poverty and living conditions. While I was standing there taking it all in, this little boy with a big bright smile came up, gave me a big hug, and proceeded to hold my hand and show me all around. In that moment, a bond was created and that boy was mine for the rest of the week. He is now my sponsor child and I am able to write letters and send gifts to him. Throughout my week in Haiti, I was able to witness firsthand how many children are truly in need of someone to love them, fight for them, and support them. Although these kids have been through unimaginable hardships, they still exude joy, happiness, and love. Experiencing this not only blew my mind, but broke my heart and changed me in ways I never thought possible. During my time in Haiti I began to realize that I wanted to provide that love, support, and guidance to a child. I began to understand this need is not only in Haiti, but throughout the rest of the world, including the US. As I thought and prayed more and more about this, I knew God was changing and opening my heart to domestic adoption.

Ever since returning home from Haiti, I have been praying about when the right time would be to look into adopting. As the months have gone by I have been able to help with kids at church and spend time with my nieces and godson. Throughout this time, the desire to provide a good life to a child in need has only increased. Fast forward about seven months, and I truly feel like now is the time. I have been in the process of reorienting some things in my life so that I will be able to fully pursue this process of adopting. For those of you that know me, you know my love for softball. It is a sport that has given so much to me throughout my life. I have been blessed with the opportunity to coach a high school team for the past 5 years. One of the biggest sacrifices and hardest decisions I have had to make on this journey so far has been to step away from coaching so that I could make myself fully available to continuing on in the adoption process. I realize that becoming a single mom will be the hardest thing I have ever done, but I also realize that God has planted this desire in me to love a child, provide for a child, fight for a child, and to give them the safe space they need to just be a kid. I am blessed with a huge family and friend group to support me and this child on this journey. My future child already has a loving Gigi and PawPaw, about 50 aunts and uncles, and a few fur babies lined up to happily be a part of their life. I know this child will be unconditionally loved not only by me, but by my family and friends. My desire through this whole journey is to provide a child with a life full of love and support while glorifying His name through it all. I cannot thank you enough for spending time learning more about my story. I ask that you pray with me and for me as I follow this path. To those of you who feel led to donate, THANK YOU! I know this would not be possible without the support of friends and family like you. Thanks again!
