NDCHRC Child Therapy Clinic

The goal of this campaign is to contribute to the childrens therapy center at the New Delhi Childrens Hospital and Research Clinic (NDCHRC). All of the money raised will go towards outfitting the Center for Hope and Healing which is a revolutionary therapy clinic for children with physical, cognitive and developmental delays. Many of the therapy toys and equipment which are so common here are unavailible or much more expensive in India. I will be purchaseing therapy equipment here and bringing it with me. I will be buying things like therapy sensory swings, tactile stimulation equipment and toys, as well as other educational books and material. These things are widely available here in the US and I hope to be able to bring as much as possible when I leave in May!
I plan to return to Delhi for 3 months to work for the New Delhi Childrens Hospital and Research Center (NDCHRC). There I will get some hands on experience working in outreach and health interventions. The video below was made about all that has been accomplished by the center and their long term goals.
Exploring the world is what keeps me going and helping people is what I was put on this planet to do. The more experience I get working abroad and in limited resource countries, like India, the more comfortable I will be when I start working in them full time.
I would like to spend as much time as I can learning the ins and outs of this NGO. I have a passion and love for the country of India which aside from its vast cultural and geographical beauty has a very high number of physically disabled children. Living there for the year of 2015 I saw so many children immobolized or handicapped from disabilities, some of which could have been corrected easily with a simple surgery.
Pictured is sweet Sarvari whom had Cerebral Palsy I worked with her for months helping her socialize and become more active, but I didnt have anyway to really help her as much as she needed. This broke my heart and I realized then that I could do something to help her and others like her, this is when I applied for Nursing school. I am very excited that I am able to return to India this summer in a medical capacity and help the amazing children there.
