Mission Statement:
The LXY Community Center is a place where youth are shown how to translate their creative skills into becoming successful and independent entrepreneurs. Our focus is to match each youth with mentors that will teach them through both a classroom setting and hands on approach. The events and programs will offer a service to businesses in the area that are looking for both cost effective and creative resources.

Overview:
The LXY Community Center was founded on the principals of having our youth be active in the Creative Economy, Activating their Community and Developing Strong Business Skills. It is an organization that shows youth how to make meaningful contributions to their community.

The current structure of the creative economy is not a sustainable model for the community. LXY Community Centers recognizes that there are important fundamentals and practical applications that are necessary when talking about the success of future creative entrepreneurs.

This program also opens up the door to new mentors and fresh ideas. It provides an opportunity for business leaders and non-profit organizations to become reengaged with the community in an area that they are passionate about. It is about having both the mentors and mentees excited about what they are bringing to the table. A large component of the LXY Community Center is teaching a solid foundation of core business skills that will help our next generation of entrepreneurs and small business owners. The youth will work to complete courses that focus on fiscal management, accountability, time management and business writing along with many other basic skills.  There will also be a paid internship program that all of the students will have an opportunity to be a part of.

LXY is stepping up to fill some of the gaps that were previously taken care of on both the city and state level. We understand that restructuring happens, however there is no time to waste; we must pick up and continue to foster and grow the creative economy in this City with the hopes that it will transcend into the region.
