Love Fed New Haven
shares knowledge with our neighbors about our historical connection to food while teaching them how to grow their own food within their current living spaces. We are raising money to equip people with supplies to grow their own food and teach them how to prepare these foods with wellness in mind. We will also be using the money to bring hosts of artists, educators and experts from all disciplines to our community sharing their art and knowledge related to people of color in the United States, our connections to food and land historically, presently and in the future. Ultimately, we aspire to acquire land in New Haven dedicated to agricultural and educational use to positively transform the cultural, physical and economic health of our at-risk populations and neighborhoods.

Love-Fed New Haven Goals:
***Immediately:
1. Share knowledge with neighbors about how to grow food within their own living spaces and prepare these foods with wellness in mind.
2. Help neighbors build their own urban gardens at home (example of supplies list below).
3. Create a network of urban gardeners working towards practicing love ethics, community building, addressing and resolving various public health, environmental, and economic issues plaguing specific communities within New Haven.
4. Host guest farmers, chefs, healers, educators, artists, sustainability experts, etc from outside of our community to share knowledge and hold classes, workshops and other events.
5. Develop art projects and events programming in collaboration with local and visiting artists to research, teach, preserve and evolve the cultures of under-represented people of color living in the greater New Haven area.

***Long-term:
6. Acquire land within New Haven dedicated to sustainable agriculture, education and creating new economic opportunities that uplift disadvantaged areas & populations.
7. Creating food hubs and coops that model the change we desire to see take place within our food systems.
