Love ALL Project
The world needs more love. Help us continue our work at Love ALL Project!
My name is Sharon Baanante, I am a Norwalk, CT native and resident, wife, and mother. On Monday, Feb 6, 2017, white supremacist fliers were circulated throughout my commmunity and surrounding towns. Two days later I started a community movement on Facebook called “Love ALL Project”. Love ALL Project is a non-partisan volunteer organization whose mission is to stop the cycle of hate by fostering understanding and relationships between different cultures through community collaborations. Our long-term goal is to create a grassroots model that we can share with other towns and cities.
With the increase in open hate and bigotry throughout our country, our grassroots efforts have undoubtedly become more and more important in our world. It is important that we understand that we're in this together. We are in this for the long haul. We are asking you now to join us as we take strides towards stopping the cycle of hate.
Here are our strategic pillars to help guide us as we document and create a community model to stop the cycle of hate:
1. Marketing for Visibility and Awareness – car magnets, social media campaign, business kits, community events, etc.
2. Collaborative Community Programming To Foster Understanding & Relationships – We create collaborative public events for all ages hosted by Love ALL Project AND community organizations. To see our programming visit our website or our facebook page. Check out an article on our "Community Table - dinner & a story" event series at https://www.thehour.com/news/article/Love-ALL-Project-hosts-Community-Table-12813289.php?cmpid=fbsocialflow.
3. A Permanent Collaborative Art/Sound Installation for Understanding that will allow others to hear inspirational stories of diversity within our community and will allow for understanding of other cultures.
4. A Community Model for Other Towns and Cities
We are currently documenting how to work with all institutions within a city to stop the cycle of hate. We want to share our learnings with the rest of the country.
Help us spread the love! With the right resources and support, our impact can start at our community level and grow beyond our city.
Let love rule!
