Loughmore Cottage Fundraiser

Our Story.

In 2012 we established The Cottage  to combat the lack of local services and the serious challenge of rural isolation in our community.  What an amazing 7 years it has been since we opened our doors and we thank you, our local community for your help in our success.

The Cottage has exceeded all our expectations and has become the hub of our village, catering for locals and many visitors from all over Ireland and across the world.  Because of this, our story is known far and wide and we are so grateful to everyone who supports us.

Such is our success that we have outgrown our current premises!

We are thrilled to have secured the most beautiful little cottage on the banks of the River Suir, beside the Old Mill, Duck Sanctuary, Picnic Area and Loughmore Castle.  It is one of the oldest buildings in the village, with the same character as our existing premises and is steeped in the history of Loughmore.

Our new premises will afford us the opportunity to expand in a small way, offering us better facilities for off-street car and bus parking, along with greater disability access.   We are delighted to say the internal layout will be in keeping with our existing premises, as we know how much people love our tearooms.

The New Cottage!

To enable us to cater for larger groups we are building a modest extension to the rear of the new premises; in addition, we are fitting a new commercial kitchen to help us operate more efficiently.  The shop & tearooms will have a separate entrance which will allow for a better experience for locals and visitors alike.  Our garden will be to the front of the Cottage giving our customers the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy the magnificent views of the Castle.  To the East, visitors can enjoy views of the River Suir as it meanders through Loughmore village, past the Old Mill, alongside the Picnic Area and Duck Sanctuary.

We are once again very fortunate to have secured the support of North Tipperary Leader and Tipperary County Council.  With their help, we are in a position to fund the renovations to our new premises, however, as with all such projects we will need to come up with a percentage of the costs.  This is approximately €30,000.

How you can help support us.

As you can appreciate this is a significant project for us and €30,000 will go a long way to offset some of the costs and ease the transition to our new home.  This is where you, our community, can help us.

We urgently need funds to help us achieve our goal of moving to our new premises.  Please know that your support, however small, will be so much appreciated and will go a long way to helping us realise this goal.

You can donate via this page, or if you'd prefer, you can donate in person at The Cottage anytime.

In 2019 we are beginning to write the next chapter in the story of The Cottage Loughmore.  With this in mind, we have created a leather-bound book where we will list all the names of those who have supported us in our next chapter.  This book will be stored in the display case of the New Cottage forever and will be a legacy to the people of Loughmore and the visitors that have yet to come through our doors.

Thank you for your valued support to date, we wouldn’t be here without you, our community. We are looking forward to ensuring the continued success of The Cottage and working together into the future.

Will you join us as we continue to write the story of The Cottage, Loughmore?
