Local Little League needs help

Hello, and thank you for viewing our campaign.  We represent New Castle Little League of New Castle, DE.  We are celebrating our 51st year of providing a safe and secure outlet for local boys and girls to play baseball and softball.
Last month, our electric provider (not Delmarva Power) advised us that a mistake had been made on their end whereby our monthly electric bill had been calculated incorrectly for the past 12 years.  This was the first time we were made aware of this error.  They explained that since 2005, our monthly bill had been calculated with a "multiplier" of one (1), when it should have actually been a 40.  As a result of their error, we were advised we owe them over $17,000.00.  This amount represents 1/3 of our annual income, which comes from player registration fees and proceeds from our concession stand.
Even though our electric provider is willing to spread our repayment plan over a few years, this would be a serious burden for us and might prevent us from making necessary safety and aesthetic improvements to the complex in the future.  Since we aren't a very wealthy league, we're asking for your help and consideration in our campaign.
     Thank you and Play Ball!

After a special meeting help last night, the New Castle MSC has “identified a necessary change in their electric and water tariff” which now limits incorrect billing inquiries to three years. As a result of this change, the New Castle Little League electric bill has been reduced to $4,469., and MSC is allowing us three years to repay.
The board of New Castle Little League is very pleased to hear that our outstanding electric bill is being reduced. Without genuflecting, the board would like to thank the MSC for re-evaluating our bill and making it more manageable for us to pay. This board certainly understands how the uninformed might view our attitude as “laisse fare” without knowing of the respectful banter between NCLL and MSC. This fair resolution further proves that quiet, behind the scene negotiations trump noisy chest pumping every day of the week. Play Ball!

Joe, Have you contacted an attorney about this? Or the Public Utilities Commission? This does not seem right to me.

I really don't understand why you have to pay for their mistake ? Even when they admitted it was their fault. Played with NCLL all my childhood and some of my best memories and greatest friendships stem from there. You guys should do a beef and beer also and please look into legal options.
