Little Free Library on Ortley Beach

       My name is Dominic James Borgese and I am four years old.  I am learning to read and write this summer and Mom would like me to share my books by putting up little free library boxes on the boardwalk of Ortley Beach.  Did you know there are thousands of little free libraries across America?  Yup, in all 50 states and 70 countries.  I don’t think there are ANY, not ONE on the Jersey shore and I would like to change that.

     My Mom and I also think Dad could build a little free library box with his eyes closed but he is not as faithful.  He said it would fall apart after the first bad storm.  And so we looked on the littlefreelibrary.org website where there are so many treated, weather resistant ones and found a happy-green, two story exchange box and another cute school house that resembles Ortley’s Chapel by the Sea.  Together with the mounting posts, they cost near one thousand dollars.  This was when Dad rolled his eyeballs and laughed out loud, but my Mom—she likes to make things happen.

      The Director of Tom’s River Recreation has given us the green light and so we’ve created this Go Fund Me Page hoping our neighbors and patrons of Ortley Beach, friends and family might like to donate to our post-hurricane-Sandy beach front where I may share my books and become something called a Steward who Trusts in the Honor System, the Goodness in people, a Love for literature and more such things that are over my head but Mom believes are very important.  She’s crazy like that.  We thank you so very much for helping us establish the first little free library on the Jersey Shore.
