Hello Gofundme community! My name is Lincoln Bohn. I have always wanted to use crowdfunding to achieve my goals, and now seems like the perfect opportunity with the Democratic National Convention around the corner!
I've sat around for too long and I haven't taken action even though I know I am armed with the tools needed to help organize and make this world a better place to live in. The education i've had along with my experiences of hitchiking across the country have taught me a ton, and I want to share what I have learned and give back to the world which has given so much to me!
I am writing this because I need your help financially. Having financial stability through these trying times will make this journey a lot less mentally and psychially taxing, and as humans when we don't having to worry about survival, it really changes the mindset.
This means so much to me because in 2013 I dropped out of college because I felt I had the skills to make it in the world. Man! I was proven wrong and it took 3 years, hitchhiking across the country and back, working for T-mobile, and going to Hawaii to finally understand my position in the world and how to make it a better place for everyone.
Your donations mean more to me than you can imagine - its not easy sticking your neck out here like this, but i am serious about making change happen in the world, as I hope I've made clear. I am not going to give up.
I am traveling from California to Philidelphia with my partner to the DNC in our 1999 Ford Windstar and it will cost about $350 one way in gas alone. So, just so you know, ANYTHING helps. Even sharing this on social media if you can't donate anything finacially really really helps. The money will be used on gas mainly, we will be staying in ClintonVille - which is going to be an occupied piece of land we hold during the Democratic National Convention and we're doing a campout, and also food.
The protests, are starting Monday the 25th at 3pm and I didn't plan to go, but because of recent events, i feel as though i must. This means we will probably leave here on Thursday and be back (hopefully) a week or two later.
