My name is Linda, and I am a poet, photographer, and lifelong seeker inspired by the natural world and our shared humanity. In 2009, I was honored to be named the Colorado Department of Peace Poet Laureate, and over the years I have spoken at hundreds of poetry readings, conferences, and gatherings devoted to creativity, reflection, and peace.
My work spans poetry, photography, and spiritual writing, shaped by a life lived in close relationship with the earth, the ocean, and the sky. I am an avid sailor and have traveled thousands of miles by sea — experiences that profoundly influenced my creative voice and deepened my understanding of connection between people, places, and the living world.
Here's a short example of my work in this 1-minute video:
Through both words and images, my work explores the meeting place of earth, ocean, and sky. My photographs often depict expansive coastal landscapes where land, sea, and light dissolve into one another — a visual expression of the same themes woven throughout my poetry: presence, belonging, and the quiet unity that links us all. These ideas are most fully expressed in my books Earth Ocean Heavens and Save the Earth, which combine poetry and photography as reflections on place, spirit, and our responsibility to one another.
I now live in Provincetown, Massachusetts, drawn — like so many artists to the light, the people, and the living energy of the ocean, an energy that flows across the planet and connects us like one family.
I am deeply honored to have been personally invited to participate in the Himalayan Literature Festival & Writers Workshop in Kathmandu, Nepal, taking place May 29 – June 5, 2026, under the theme Ecstasy, Healing, and Creative Writing in a New World Order.
This gathering is convened by Yuyutsu Sharma, a highly respected poet, editor, and cultural organizer who has spent decades bringing writers together across borders to foster dialogue, healing, and global understanding through poetry. Yuyutsu and I presented an evening of Writings-Poetry at the Provincetown Library Nov. 9, 2023 which you can watch here
This invitation represents a rare and meaningful opportunity to engage in an international exchange rooted in art, peace, and cultural connection. I am raising funds to support my participation — including international travel and essential expenses so I can share my poetry and photography while listening, learning, and contributing to this important global conversation.
This opportunity is not simply about travel. It is about showing up for dialogue, honoring a profound invitation, and participating in a gathering that believes poetry and art can help bridge divides and remind us of what we share. Through this experience, I hope to represent my creative community, deepen my work, and continue using poetry and imagery as a bridge between people, cultures, and the shared home we call Earth.
Thank you from my heart for your consideration, your generosity, and your support.
With gratitude,
Linda
