Update as of 1/26/2019:
Finally, Prince has been reunited with his family after a long three months of surviving on his own! Kari could really use our support to get back on her feet after giving up just about everything over the past few months; everything except for hope to find her companion. Monika could also use a little help to replenish the money that she spent; she runs The Thunderbird Spirit Ranch/Rescue & would truly appreciate any financial support to continue her mission of saving animals & bringing families back together. Please give what you can. Thank you!

Original Story:
Imagine this for a moment, there’s a car accident & your companion is taken to an unfamiliar rescue center. Your companion escapes from the center trying to find you, only to realize he’s now lost, alone & must attempt to survive in the valley of the 14000’ peaks of Central Colorado through the coldest, snowiest & windy days and nights of the year. You spend the next 3 months searching for your best friend by any means necessary...

This nightmare is a reality for Karilynn Yarbrough who has desperately tried to find her beloved dog, Prince, since October 22nd. Karilynn resides in Colorado Springs (about 2 hours away) and has given up everything to bring her companion home, including tent camping in below-zero weather & the expense of relentlessly searching for Prince, with only a couple of sightings of him over the course of 3 months. Unfortunately, Karilynn has not received much help or support until Prince made his way to town and now there have been daily sightings of him in multiple locations. This is a step in the right direction to Karilynn getting reunited with her fur baby.

Monika Courtney was the one person who truly stepped-up to help Karilynn from the very beginning. She has spent more than $600.00 of her own money to purchase the best ”bait” around & anything else necessary in an attempt to get Prince back with his human companion. She has also spent countless long days & sleepless nights attempting to reunite the two of them. Monika is the community’s unofficial dog whisperer & was a an integral role in reuniting Bentley with his owner after a tragic  jeep accident in a remote 4x4 location. She dedicates her heart & soul to helping reunite families in need.

I am asking you to join me in supporting Karilynn & Monika in their mission to bring Prince back to his family. They are so close but could really use some financial support. Karilynn is in a desperate situation & living in her car. Monika is spending time & money assisting with Prince’s rescue, all while operating The Thunderbird Spirit Ranch/Rescue (NOT the same rescue that Prince escaped from). Let’s join together & show these ladies (and dog) that we support them & want to do what it takes to bring Prince home!

With many thanks,

Angela Wallace-Larish

Re the search for Prince, missing dog in BV since Oct. 22/18. When people attack you because they are desperate for attention, one needs to clarify a few things:
I have been investing daily efforts into this search since October. Hours. Days. Money. Hundreds. Help in so many ways. Driving. Organizing/Moving traps. Putting out bait. Buying bait as I did again today after we lost him. The extent of my commitment into this - people don’t have a CLUE. This has consumed my life just as the Bentley search did. I know the protocol.

3 months now searching for Prince. Tonite again I came home in the dark to feed my animals at our sanctuary which I run on my own- no one helps! 7 horses, 145 chickens, 16 ducks, 6 dogs, 3 cats etc. I haven’t had time since days to go get feed or do stuff here- as I have been out with Kari tracking Prince last night again with fresh warm bait at 9 pm. It’s what you do!!
I put my life on hold for this and the work behind the scenes is much more than posting on FB. I reached out to the community for months- raised funds for Kari, networked, hiked and drove hundreds of miles to search in any weather and move traps and what not. 6 hrs of calming signals three days ago. I was freezing! I was the first human he came to!!! See video!!! People have no idea!!! No one donates to my efforts! My gas!
Never driving anywhere without having a bag of cut up bacon, sausage or chicken, in case he is somewhere!!
I am sick of the drama and rude judgments. I have supported Kari from the get go in many more ways than people have an inkling about. I haven’t eaten in two days. I grab an apple on the run. It’s pathetic-.the stress and all that goes into this. You don’t know until you are in a situation like this... Everything comes to a standstill - because you have to commit! I gave my camp gear, clothes, tent, propane, stove, made flyers, let her stay here, cooked, the list goes on. My husband picked up canine Vitamin/supplement paste to add to his bait as he is strained and weak. I do this because a dog is suffering-.if it was your dog you would understand. I reached out to Kari as I did to Bentley’s owner Samantha. And I committed. Built the foundation. I don’t want negativity, and attention seekers’ crappy comments. It’s detrimental!!!
It’s a soap now again-.passive as can be in the beginning-.now that dog is in town-it’s a thriller. What sustained this until now-.people don’t get. Where was everyone??
No drama- no negativity. The focus is on a dog that is starving, has survived 3 months in cougar country amongst coyotes, bobcats and what not. He is weak now, his paws bleeding from frostbite. His suffering needs to end-.as he never asked for this. Neither did his owner. This is one incredible dog!!!
Support is welcome.
