Last spring, I had the honor of meeting Wayne Cornett at the NJ marathon when he came up to the Pacer's booth where I was answering questions. I learned that Wayne, a father of 3, was running to raise awareness for SMA, or Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a disease that his daughter Kirsten was fighting!
As Kirsten sat nearby confined to her wheelchair, I asked Wayne if he ever thought about racing with his daughter. Wayne didn't realize that pushing Kirsten was an option, and after explaining to him about the amazing possibilities of attaining a "Team Hoyt" Push Chair, I could see the excitement in his eyes! Needless to say, Kirsten overhead our conversation and asked her daddy if she could race with him one day.
Let's make Kirsten's wish come true!
Let's raise enough money to purchase a "Push-Chair" for the Cornett family! The time is NOW!!!!!
