Lorcan Michael O'Brien was born at 24 weeks 1 day, on the 13.5.18 (Mother’s Day) weighing just 705 Grams. He was born with Chronic Lung Disease and despite doctors saying he would not survive many times, he fought through it along with many other challenges that affected him for nearly 7 months.
Lorcan's journey was captured by the world and through his Facebook page "Little Fierce One" set up by his amazing parents. His case was one of the worst seen by the doctors treating him and his mother was contacted to do an interview with 9 News. Lorcan spent every day in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where his parents Nikki Daly and Ruairi O'Brien visited every day. Until the Little Fierce One sadly passed away on the 4.12.18 at Perth's Children's Hospital.
Lorcan’s dad, Ruairi O'Brien, is a casual supervisor that works on the shutdown team for Civmec, he is also a close friend to many of us working at Civmec. The money raised will help Nikki and Ruairi and their 3-year-old daughter Ariana, as both are out of work and will need all the support they can get through this tough time. Any funds you can donate will be appreciated by all of us here at Civmec and their close friends .
