José and Brisa Replacement Mini-Van

Donation protected
In English:

José, Brisa and their family were giddy with excitement. They could now transport their children to school, to doctor’s appointments and himself to and from work as well as efficiently attend meetings with his children’s teachers.

The van was brought home on a Friday afternoon and parked in its designated space in the parking lot of the apartment building of his family’s residence. He planned on registering it with apartment management  on Monday right after his daughter’s eye surgery.

On Monday morning the van was gone. It had been towed. In pulling the money together to retrieve it, too many days lapsed and the cost to retrieve escalated beyond what he could borrow. They were forced to let the van go and with it his children’s car seats and his tools. The car payments, however, remained.

José works two shifts at a local eatery. His employer, cannot find willing and dependable employees. José is taking up the slack. Yet, he finds the time to meet with his children’s teachers.

Many injustices are embedded in this story. This fact remains: José is a hard working contributing member of our community and the most important thing in his life is his children’s well being.

Let’s come together and begin to right an injustice. Will you pitch in? Funds will be used towards the purchase of a replacement van.

¿Puedes contribuir?
