As many of you know, 22-year old Molly Viehweg was involved in a tragic hit-and-run accident by an uninsured motorist on Thursday, July 19, while out for a jog. As close friends of the family, and in response to an overwhelming amount of community support, we have decided to organize this fundraiser on her behalf.

As a result of the accident, Molly was left in critical condition, and her road to recovery is uncertain at the moment. She has been in an induced coma since undergoing surgery Thursday to treat blood clots in her brain; Molly’s skull is also fractured. The extent of any brain damage she may have suffered cannot be determined until she wakes up.

Molly is a vibrant, free-spirited young woman. She is deeply compassionate—her friends and family can speak volumes about her endless generosity and the light she exudes everywhere she goes. She loves to exercise, spend time with friends and family, and most of all, adores her dog, Georgie. She is a strong young woman, with her whole entire life ahead of her, and we wish to support her in this great time of need.

All funds received will be used to alleviate the financial strain brought on by Molly’s treatment. Any donation, big or small, is deeply and sincerely appreciated. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please pray for her recovery and share the link to this cause.

For those who are not aware, last week Molly was transferred down to Madison for the remainder of her rehab. Down in Madison she will get much better although she is doing much better the way it is! She talks, walks, laughs, does her hair and makeup, texts, posts all over Facebook and social media! You can have an actual conversation with her back and fourth. She is amazing and she is doing amazing. Some people are confused with some pictures she posts online. No, she is not at the gym lifting weights. She is not out of the hospital going for walks in the woods she still has a very long way to go before that happens but we still need the support to make that happen. Those are pictures before the accident happened. She is in Madison and will be for at least 4 months. But continues to strive each and everyday. Thank you all so much for everything.

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for everything!!!! Molly is doing wonderful! She is walking a little bit but only during her rehab therapy sessions! She is talking, a lot! She loves to talk! One of her favorite things to say is “and I was like ahhh” and hen she laughs! She is just as silly, sweet, and kind hearted. She tells people all the time “you are perfect” “I love you” she talks about so many different things. She is working on her memory and the understanding everyday of what exactly happened and how things are working right now. If you see Molly posting stuff all over Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram, it is because she has her phone back. Which she loves playing on and talking to people. Still LOVES to take selfies!!! Every single day Molly striving, making progress! She is so so cute, as always. Molly is so thankful for everything everyone has done and continues to do for her. From all of us, thank you. Thank you so much. There will never be a way to show all the gratitude we have for each and every one of you. #MollyStrong

Molly is doing great, and I think that is because she knows how much support she is getting! We tell her all the time she is able to eat stuff like whipped cream which she loved, pudding, and she is able to drink water and milk with a thickner added. She does grab the spoon out of your hand and feeds herself, it’s messy, but she does it! Last night she was scrapping every last drop of applesauce out of the container. Funny because she’s always done that. She laughs when you do something silly like dance or spank your butt, even tho sometimes she spanks your butt). Her laugh gets closer to a Molly laugh everyday. She Can drink out of a cup, holds it, tips her head back, does it all. She high fives you, does the I love you sign, thumbs up, and something she called the woogie. She holds your hand, and can sit up on her own. But is still not walking or talking. Every single time I am in my phone mollys sits up and rips it out of my hands, and she starts scrolling through Facebook. If I tell her to pause the video she does, if I say play the video she does. She loves scrolling on my phone!! She does start full on rehab therapy today. Which will be the hardest struggle she will have to go through. We are all hopeful she will be home with us all for thanksgiving which means we are hopeful for a speedy recovery. She is already very strong and making so many improvements. Everyday I am more proud of her than I was the day before. Molly is truly a remarkable person, and I can’t believe I have someone in my life so amazing as her. #MollyStrong

Molly will be moving to a rehab room next week! She smiles and laughs (not her usual Molly laugh) but a slight chuckle. She seems to recognize certain people. No talking or walking yet. We expected this, and pray it will get better during rehab! She is able to move her legs, she tries to copy you when you cross your legs, she stares at people a lot, scratches her face head and ears. It’s slow progress and it’s little things we take for granted daily, but her being able to do all of that is everything. Thank you all! #MollyStrong
