There is a family that are in dire straits and need help fast.
Jenn and Mike Fulford have two special needs children. Ayden, 7 years old, who they adopted has fetal alcohol syndrome, and the other child, Parker (P-Dawg for short!), 5 years old, has cerebral palsy and is blind and deaf. Their home is in desperate need of renovations.
They need a lift, but the one that they have borrowed won't fit through the doors. To install a lift in the ceiling would be the ultimate, but they have asbestos in the attic that needs to be removed first. That alone is $10,000.
They have no ramp to the backyard to get Parker out there.
They only have a Dodge Caravan, and that won't work any longer. If Parker aspirates while in the van, Jenn can't get to him fast enough. They need a special needs van.
Parker has aspirated 9 times so far this year, where he has needed to be air lifted to Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto.
Mike was hurt at work this year and crushed to muscles in his calf. He has only been able to work two weeks so far this year, and they are running out of time and money. Mike works seasonal, and if he doesn't work 60 hours a week, they can't make ends meet at the end of the year.
Jenn has torn the muscles in her shoulder carrying Parker, so she needs to hire PSW's to help out more than usual.
This family are the most carrying people I have ever met, and need help desperately. They live in Havelock Ontario.
If they don't get the help, Parker will have to go into a group home!
