Many of you know Jeff Hite, as he serves our community in countless ways. Jeff is not only a husband and father to five children but serves our community daily, especially on the soccer field. Jeff is the assistance coach for Luray High School JV soccer, coaches the Luray Valley Soccer Club, and is an active member of Rileyville Baptist Church.
On March 8, 2017 Jeff went to his primary care physician because he was not feeling well. During this appointment, the physician heard a heart murmur that had not been present before. Therefore, the physician sent Jeff for additional testing and it was discovered through an Echocardiogram that Jeff’s Mitral Valve was not working properly. Over the course of the last two weeks Jeff has had multiple severe episodes of shortness of breath and dizziness that has lead him to Winchester Medical Center’s emergency department. During these emergency department visits Jeff, has underwent a bilateral heart catheterization, multiple Echocardiograms, Transesophageal Echocardiogram, and a Pulmonary Function Test. The results of these tests revealed that Jeff will need heart surgery to repair, possibly replace his Mitral Valve.
This past Friday, March 31, 2017 Jeff had an appointment with a Cardiothoracic surgeon at Winchester Medical Center who recommends that Jeff have surgery on Monday, April 3, 2017. The Cardiothoracic surgeon states that Jeff will possibly be in the hospital for five to seven days and off work for a minimum of four to six weeks.
Unfortunately, during this time of recovery while Jeff is unable to work he will not be able to bring home an income as his employer does not offer sick or paid leave time. Related to the urgency for heart surgery and Jeff’s condition he has been unable to financially plan for the next one to two months. Therefore, this fund was created to assist Jeff and his family with living and medical expenses over the next several weeks until he can return to work. If you are able...every dollar matters...please help the Hite family during this difficult time. Jeff is always giving to our community so please as a community lets show Jeff our support and help through prayers, get well cards and donations.
