Jaycee & Shaun Moore MOMO Twins
Donation protected
Shaun and Jaycee Moore are pregnant with twins. This pregnancy is the second high-risk pregnancy that Jaycee has faced. Our first grand-daughter was delivered at 26 weeks at 1 lb 4 oz and spent 3 months in the NICU. Laurayne just turned four years old, is enjoying pre-school and is a beautiful miracle.
Jaycee is now pregnant with Nataleigh Grace and Jolene Avery. They are a rare set of twins; dubbed "Momo" twins which make up only 1 percent of all twin pregnancies. This means they share the same amniotic sac making them identical. To make it even rarer, the twins are also mono-chorionic; they each have their own umbilical cord, but they share the same placenta. Therefore, they are competing for the same resources including oxygen, blood, and nutrients. Often these type of twins develop entangled umbilical cords further increasing the survival rate and risk factors. Nataleigh and Jolene are currently 28 weeks. We are so thankful they have made it into the third trimester.
Two weeks ago, Jaycee was admitted to Stormont Vail hospital. She will remain in the hospital until the babies can be delivered. Jaycee has been diagnosed with pre-clampsia as well as diabetes. Doctors are hoping to keep the twins in the womb until 32 weeks, but depending on the safety of both mom and babies, may have to deliver at any time prior to that. Either way, the babies will be in NICU for several months following delivery.
Any funds raised will be used to help with the loss of income the family is facing because Jaycee had to quit her job. When the babies are home, she will need to stay home to care for three children. Money will be used to pay bills, traveling expenses to and from the hospital during Jaycee's hospitalization and during the twins stay in NICU as well as for buying necessities for the babies to include diapers, wipes, formula, etc. The bulk of funds raised will be used to obtain transportation. Jaycee needs a dependable, reliable and most of all safe vehicle to transport children to school, doctors, activities, etc. With your support, we hope to be able to reach our goal in 4-6 months.
My family and I are blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. Any help or support you could provide is greatly appreciated. We are thankful and can't wait to meet Nataleigh and Jolene. Please remember, "It takes a village to raise a child".
